Hi there! 👋
I haven’t posted in a while — I’ve recently moved to the other side of the country, which took up most of my time. But now I finally have a moment to share my first complete environment made in Unreal Engine 5.
This is my first time working with trim textures, which I created myself, along with a custom model of the ruins. It’s also my first project in UE5, so everything here was a learning experience.
For the initial blockout, I used basic primitives directly in UE5 to establish the composition and cave layout. Later, I replaced them with free assets from the Unreal Marketplace, including environmental elements and water.
I also added some atmospheric details to the scene: Moving dust particles, Fireflies, A night sky with the moon
The ruins model consists of approximately 54,200 triangles, optimized for real-time use.
The cave environment was created purely for presentation purposes.
I even made my first small steps in DaVinci Resolve, using it to do a simple video render edit — a small experiment, but a new skill nonetheless.
Although time has been limited, I'm very happy to have finally started working in UE5. I hope this marks the beginning of more frequent updates and environment pieces.
Thanks for watching and checking out my work!
